We don’t want to jinx it, but it seems like fall is finally in the air! The holiday season is in swing, and it is tough to keep up with all the incredible happenings around the First Coast. Here are a few to get your started as you begin to plan your weekend!
#1 Weekend Warrior
Winter is a great time for planting on the First Coast. What better way to wrap up the year than with planting a garden to enjoy fresh grown veggies year round! Visit us online for an article on how to build your own raised bed garden. If you do it…take a picture and tag us on Instagram #firstcoastmagazine.
#2 Catch a Show
One of our region’s most important historic neighborhoods, Lincolnville will be hosting its annual festival in St. Augustine this Saturday and Sunday. Food, drink, and a stellar line up including jazz artist Doug Carn, Laura Lee and the Escapees and Mama Blue are playing so put your dancing shoes on and go check it out!
#3 Good Sports
Looking for some amazing gifts for the Jaguar fan in your life? Way and Delores Barr Weaver are auctioning memorabilia from their collection this Saturday to raise money for the Jacksonville Humane Society. This is a must do shopping experience just in time for the holidays!
#4 Grab a Bite
Top Chef winner Kevin Sbraga just opened his new restaurant at 220 Riverside Ave / Unity Plaza this week. We checked it out already, and the food, drink and ambience are fantastic. Eat at the urban core’s newest foodie hot spot…we recommend the octopus.
#5 Go Outside and Play
If you have never done a Slow Food First Coast Tour de Farm, you are really missing out. For one day of the year, farmers from across the region open their doors to the public. It is an amazing way to spend the day outside learning about our local food community, and a great chance to sample some delicious homegrown fare. Check it out this Sunday from 12 to 5 pm.
