Love is in the air! This weekend there are many wonderful ways to celebrate the people you love. Here is a rundown of some fun happenings around our region this holiday weekend. Enjoy!
#1 Weekend Warrior
Fresh flowers bring vibrancy to any space. We asked local floral guru, Liz Stewart for advice on how to bring the garden inside with style and grace.
#2 Grab a Bite
This Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 pm Sweet Pete’s is hosting a series of family-friendly activities for you to dive into. After a little bonding time, you can hit up the Candy Apple Café for the Apple of My Eye brunch. If you are looking for a mommy and daddy date night, Sweet Pete’s is now offering Candy Care. For $20 per kiddo (added to your bill), you can enjoy a romantic night out at the Candy Apple while your children can have their own special dinner with a team of licensed babysitters on-site!
#3 Catch a Show
Dance the day away at Hemming Park this Saturday! From 12 pm to 5 pm, rockin’ bands from across the region are honoring the late David Bowie’s incredible contribution to the music world. Food trucks and beer will be available…rally your friends and family and blow this party up!
#4 Good Sports
The 9th Annual 26.2 with Donna marathon kicks of this Friday in Jacksonville Beach. If you aren’t a marathon runner, there will be all sorts of activities happening this weekend for you to join in the fight to beat breast cancer.
#5 Get Out and Play
It is easy to take the beach for granted living in the Sunshine State. This weekend, spend some time with someone dear and go explore a stretch a beach that you have never visited. We recommend Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, Anastasia State Park or Fort Clinch for long quite walks and great beach combing.
