Sid & Linda’s Seafood Market and Restaurant

Because Sid & Linda’s operates as both a seafood market and a restaurant, it’s one of the few places in town where you can pick a fish from the display case and have it cooked to your liking. It doesn’t get any fresher than a fish swimming in the ocean, minding its own business that morning, and then being caught, sold, and cooked by that night.

Chowder Ted’s is a little hole in the wall restaurant tucked under the corner of a small bridge on Heckscher drive on the North end of town. It’s not much to look at from the outside. Chowder Ted’s is in a very small older building with maybe 12 tables total plus a few bar stools that are situated right in front of the kitchen. They’re known for their famous chowder served in a pot.

Nestled at the corner of Ocean & Ahern streets across from One Ocean Resort is a quaint, romantic restaurant called Ocean 60. It’s well known amongst Atlantic Beach residents for offering gourmet food & incredible happy hour deals. Largely unknown to residents of greater Jacksonville, Ocean 60 might be the best restaurant many area diners have never visited.

North Beach Fish Camp

The menu at North Beach Fish Camp obviously focuses heavily on fresh Florida seafood. In addition to a wide range of finer-dining options, they offer plenty of laid back “fish camp” choices too, including fried seafood baskets and a pretty decent kids’ menu. Their menu also boasts a lot of tasty southern sides and comfort food, like grits, collard greens, and smoked bacon butter beans…yum!
