Chamblin Bookmine sells new, used, and rare books in two retail Jacksonville locations, at 4551 Roosevelt Blvd., and at 215 North Laura St. They also sell books on their website, www.chamblinbookmine.com.

In business since 1976, Chamblin displays about 55,000 square foot of books at its two stores. About 98 percent of the books are used and or rare, and two percent are new.

The business buys books from customers, offering a trade-in and purchasing policy that generates a constantly increasing and interesting selection of used books. It buys hard backs and paper backs, as well as well as audio books, music CD’s and DVD’s, old postcards, old maps, and magazines prior to the 1960s. It stocks selected new books to enhance title selection. For information about selling books, call 904-477-9416.

The North Laura Street store includes a café, and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays; and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

The Roosevelt store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Sundays.

About 40,000 of the business’ 2 million books are listed online, and are stored at its warehouse at 2050 Forest St. The online inventory only contains rare and collectible books and some new text books, and customers who would like to make an appointment to browse inventory there can call 904-477-9416.

Staff will research books not available online, at the stores, or at the warehouse.
