While Florida does not have any tax credits for going solar, (this is because we have no state income tax, which is where the credits are applied in other states), and it does have some other pluses to offer the solar savvy. - Property Tax Exemption: The state of Florida recognizes that solar panels give your home more value. Whatever that added value is estimated at by an appraiser (let’s say $20,000) you do not have to pay property taxes on that value.
- Solar Panel Systems Sales Tax Free: Florida gives a sales tax exemption on the purchase of solar panels.
